Last week, Chatterjee was shifted to a non-COVID section after he tested negative for the infection.
The 85-year-old thespian’s neurological condition is deteriorating and he has very little consciousness, said the doctors.
According to a news agency, the doctors said that medical practitioners are ‘evaluating the patient’s current condition’.
“He is also not responding to treatment and his platelet count has dropped further in the last 24 hours, doctors said, adding, “His organs like lungs and heart are working well and his blood pressure is normal but his consciousness is a cause of concern”
The actor’s age and comorbidities are a matter of concern for the doctors.
After shifting him out of COVID ICU he was recovering well and his consciousness was better too. The doctors were also giving him music therapy.
The Dada Saheb Phalke award-winning actor had completed a series in the last week of September and was shooting for Parambrata Chattopadhyay’s film, Abhijaan. He had also been filming his biopic and a documentary on his life for the last one month.
