Mumbai reported 800 new coronavirus cases on Monday, a drop from more than 1,000 daily infections recorded over the last three days, while 14 more patients died due to the infection. The COVID-19 tally has now increased to 2,76,507, while the death toll rose to 10,687.Maharashtra’s COVID-19 tally went up to 17,84,361 with 4,153 new cases on Monday, while more than 3,700 patients recovered from the virus. With 30 new deaths reported during the day, the state’s fatality count increased to 46,653.Meanwhile, amid apprehensions of a possible ‘second wave’, people travelling from Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Goa by flights or trains will have to carry RT-PCR negative test reports, the Maharashtra Government announced on Monday. For those travelling by road, officials will have to ensure that the commuters are tested for symptoms at the land border, including body temperature.India’s coronavirus count crossed the 91-lakh mark on Monday after 44,059 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The overall count of cases reached 91,39,866 including 4,43,486 active cases and 85,62,641 recoveries. With 511 more persons succumbing to the virus, the toll has mounted to 1,33,738.
