Mumbai on Tuesday reported 939 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the count of infections to 2,77,446. With 19 more people succumbing to the viral infection, the overall death toll rose to 10,706. A total of 404 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment in the last 24 hours and the number of active cases has increased to 10,666.Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 5,439 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 17,89,800. With 30 new deaths, the overall fatality count rose to 46,683. The number of active patients now stands at 83,221.Meanwhile, there will be no fresh lockdown in Maharashtra but some restrictions will be introduced to keep a check on the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the state, Health Minister Rajesh Tope said on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters, Tope said, “There has been no decision yet on the introduction of another round of lockdown in the state.”India reported 37,975 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the number of cases so far to 91,77,841, according to Union Health Ministry. The total cases in the country now stands at 91,77,841 including 86,04,955 recoveries and 4,38,667 active cases. With 480 new deaths, the cumulative toll reached 1,34,218.
